Doing Well by Doing Good in Healthcare

Nateev Health is a first-of-its-kind outsourced corporate venture capital resource for enterprises focused specifically on aligning enterprise healthcare benefits with their business goals.  We support enterprises and innovators across the full lifecycle of healthcare innovation by investing in early-stage healthcare companies that address critical gaps across this continuum.  We’re a big proponent of community and we convene enterprises, vendors, funders and individuals who are passionate about disrupting the status quo of only managing costs in self funded enterprises.

We believe healthcare benefits should do more than control costs—they should drive business outcomes, elevate employee experience, and strengthen workforce wellbeing.

Why It Matters

Healthcare accounts for a significant—and growing—portion of U.S. GDP. Nearly 45% of all healthcare spending is through private insurance representing over $1 trillion in annual spend  with ⅔ of this being delivered through self-funded employer health plans.  These plans are typically managed by third-party administrators (TPAs) paid flat fees to process claims. Unfortunately, these TPAs lack incentive to innovate.

Our customer discovery process and advisors, which includes organizations representing millions of employees, confirms this: the most forward-thinking enterprises are those that tie benefits to broader business goals—not just cost containment.

Key Challenges For Enterprises

We are actively seeking solutions along a continuum that traditionally serve as barriers in deploying innovative healthcare programs in self funded plans:

  • 1. Data and Analysis

Combining claims data, HRIS, payroll, and other internal systems to identify opportunities and measure impact requires robust analytical capabilities. Most companies aren't staffed to do this at scale, and most analysis only comprises some of the elements without tying it to a company’s business objectives.

  • 2. Employee Engagement

Enterprises have a unique opportunity to take a “population health” approach to the most important element of their business - people.  With that, even the best programs require thoughtful rollouts to both identify and engage their workforce. These programs need to have objective and measurable outcomes.

  • 3. Vendor Sourcing

With thousands of healthcare solutions—from early-stage startups to national vendors—finding the right fit can be overwhelming. We work with our people in our community of advisors and investors to identify and vet the best solutions for your environment.

  • 4. Ongoing Program Management

With thousands of healthcare solutions—from early-stage startups to national vendors—finding the right fit can be overwhelming. We work with our people in our community of advisors and investors to identify and vet the best solutions for your environment.

Our Mission

Help organizations optimize spend (cut waste, not care), elevate experience (fix the friction), and empower the workforce (care for the people who power your business) - the “triple aim” for self funded health plans. And work with these enterprises to tie their business objectives to their healthcare benefits.

Real-World Impact

Here’s what innovation with healthcare benefits looks like in action:

Utility Company Case Study

To maximize workforce utilization, a large utility used healthcare strategically: providing line workers with tablets for tele-PT visits and bringing dermatology screenings onsite. A dedicated internal team develops ROIs and deploys programs aligned with operational goals.

Transportation Enterprise Case Study

A national transportation company sought an obesity management program but was challenged by costs. We connected them with entrepreneurial vendors who handle everything—from eligibility screening to national deployment—ensuring outcomes aligned with enterprise objectives.
